An bomb at a bus station in Nigeria has killed at least 20 people and wounded another 21 in Gombe city.
The station was crowded with holiday travelers when the attack took place.
No one has claimed responsibility, but the Monday attack occurred in northeastern Nigeria, where the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram repeatedly has targeted civilians in its efforts to carve out an Islamic state.
Hours later, a massive explosion rocked a marketplace in the northeastern city of Bauchi, setting the entire area ablaze. Witnesses say there are heavy casualties, but it is not yet clear how many. The cause of the blast also was unclear.
In neighboring Cameroon, the army says its forces have dismantled a Boko Haram training camp in the country's far north, along the border with Nigeria. Boko Haram has expanded operations to include attacks on Cameroon in recent months.
