Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, the daughter of the late star Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown was placed in a coma to stop brain swelling, family friend Kim Burrell told the NBC entertainment television show Access Hollywood.
Bobbi Kristina was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her
Georgia home on January 31. She was transported to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Tuesday after three days at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, CNN reported, citing unnamed sources close to the family.
The incident comes nearly three years after Houston, 48, a singer and actress who battled substance abuse, drowned in a bathtub on February 11, 2012, in Beverly Hills, California. Authorities have said cocaine use and heart disease contributed to Houston's death.
Bobbi Kristina is the sole heir to Houston's entire estate.
Several celebrities including La Toya Jackson and rap artist Missy Elliott, who performed in the Super Bowl haltime show on February 1, have tweeted support for Bobbi Kristina.
