President Bush will be in the western U.S. state of Colorado Saturday to rally Republicans against a Democratic Party election-day push to reclaim control of Congress.

The president campaigned Friday in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri, telling crowds that Democratic candidates have not formulated a plan for victory in Iraq.

Democrats say Mr. Bush has ignored repeated calls for a change in his Iraq strategy. Opposition party members argue it is time for a change.

Polls suggest Democrats are on the verge of reclaiming the U.S. House of Representatives, and perhaps the Senate as well, by making the election a referendum on the president's handling of the Iraq war.

Both sides are pouring millions of dollars into last-minute ads in the most hotly contested states.

Mr. Bush is seeking to repeat his successful 2002 election strategy by campaigning in Republican strongholds and rallying his core supporters to turn out to vote.

Former Democratic President Bill Clinton has been helping his party raise funds while urging them to match the Republicans get-out-the-vote effort.
