Engel is one of the few American journalists to have covered Iraq continuously,  before, during, and after the U.S.-led invasion
When the United States invaded Iraq in 2003, Richard Engel was a freelance reporter in Baghdad with no credentials and little support.  Five years later, Engel is a veteran war correspondent.  He has covered all facets of the conflict.  Now Chief Foreign Correspondent for NBC News, he spoke to VOA's Kane Farabaugh in Chicago about the challenges of covering news in a war zone.
