Queen 'Bee' of WASP Gets Honorary Degree
During World War II, American women pilots were trained to fly non-combat missions to free male pilots for combat. The group was called Women Air Force Service Pilots, or WASP. One former WASP, 94-year-old Bernice Falk Haydu, was recently recognized for her service with an honorary degree. VOA’s Bernard Shusman caught up with her at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in New York City.
