Baluchi Tribesmen in Pakistan Blow up Key Rail Track

Suspected tribal militants in Pakistan's troubled southwest have blown up a key railway track linking the country with neighboring Iran.

Officials say terrorists hit the line at Naushki, some 150 kilometers west of Quetta on Wednesday.

The officials say the blast was the third in a month to hit the line from Baluchistan's capital Quetta, to Zahedan in Iran.

Baluchi tribesmen have been fighting for more royalties for the natural resources extracted from their region.

President Pervez Musharraf ordered thousands of troops to move into the area in January after the rebels rocketed Pakistan's biggest gas field at Sui in Baluchistan, killing eight people. The rebels said the attack was in retaliation for the rape of a woman doctor at the facility.
