The leader of Ethiopia's opposition Coalition for Unity and Democracy, Hailu Shawel, told the crowd today it is time to end the ruling party's 14 years in power. He says the government has failed to combat poverty and create jobs.
Ethiopia's opposition says its supporters have been intimidated, arrested, and even killed in the run-up to the election.
