The San Antonio Spurs have reached the National Basketball Association finals by eliminating the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference finals. San Antonio's 101-95 victory Wednesday sealed the best-of-seven series, 4-1.
Tim Duncan dominated the court for San Antonio with 31 points and 15 rebounds. Manu Ginobili of Argentina added 19 points for the visiting Spurs while Tony Parker had 18.
Amare Stoudemire led Phoenix with a game high 40 points while Canadian Steve Nash, this season's NBA Most Valuable Player, had 21.
The Spurs will play the winner of the Eastern Conference finals. The Miami Heat and the defending NBA champion Detroit Pistons are tied at two games each in that best-of-seven series. Game Five is Thursday in Miami.
