Crude Oil Prices Fall Slightly


Here are prices of some key commodities traded in New York on Thursday.

Crude oil prices fell 34 cents to close at $64.75 a barrel. Coffee futures fell more than 2 cents to close at 89.4 cents a pound. Cocoa prices fell $13 to finish at $1,355 a ton. Copper prices fell nearly half a cent to finish at one dollar and 67.8 cents a pound.

Meanwhile, U.S. stock market indexes were mixed at Thursday's close. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 14 points to finish at 10,559. The S & P 500 gained half a point to end at 1228, while the NASDAQ fell three points to finish at 2,146.

European share prices were mixed at the close. London's Financial Times index climbed 36 points to end at 5384, and the CAC-40 in Paris advanced 9 points to reach 4,479. But the DAX index in Frankfurt fell 5 points to finish at 4,906.

The price of gold was up more than $5.00, trading at $455.40 an ounce in New York. The dollar was up against the yen and the euro in New York trading.
