The Los Angeles Clippers have knocked the Utah Jazz out of first place in the National Basketball Association's Northwest Division with a 102-93 victory.
Elton Brand scored six of his 35 points in overtime Monday. He also pulled down 14 rebounds after missing two games because of a sore right hip. Sam Cassell had 25 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for the Clippers, who have won three straight games after losing nine of 12.
The host Detroit Pistons cruised past the Boston Celtics, 94-84. Rasheed Wallace scored 18 of his 23 points in third quarter for Detroit. The Pistons have won 15 of 17 games and boast an NBA-best record so far of 30 wins and five losses.
In Washington, Gilbert Arenas had 22 points and a season-high 12 assists to help the host Wizards hold the Philadelphia 76ers to its lowest point total of the season, 104-76.
