Gilbert Arenas had 36 points and 11 assists to lead the Washington Wizards to a 104-99 win over the Detroit Pistons in National Basketball Association action Tuesday.
DeShawn Stevenson scored 15 points, while Caron Butler added 13 points for the Wizards, who remain in first place in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
But the win was a costly one for Washington, due to a knee injury to star Antawn Jamison.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks downed the Los Angeles Lakers 99-94. Eddy Curry scored 27 points for the Knicks, while teammate Stephon Marbury scored another 22 points. Los Angeles was playing without Kobe Bryant, who was suspended for one game Tuesday after striking the San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili in the face during a game on Sunday.
Tuesday's other NBA winners include Miami, Indiana, Cleveland and Dallas.
Dwayne Wade scored 28 points as the Miami Heat rolled to a 110-80 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Indiana Pacers beat the Boston Celtics 103-96, handing Boston its 12 straight loss. The Cleveland Cavaliers routed the Golden State Warriors 124-97, with Sasha Pavlovic scoring a career-high 24 points in place of injured superstar LeBron James. And the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Seattle Super Sonics 122-102, stretching their home court winning streak to 14 games. Austin Croshere scored a career-high 34 points to lead the Mavericks.
