Whitney Houston's divorce from fellow singer Bobby Brown will become final April 24. Appearing April 4 in an Orange County, California courtroom, Houston was told that she will get custody of the couple's 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
Her estranged husband, Bobby Brown, did not attend the hearing.
The couple wed in 1992; during their troubled 14-year union, Bobby Brown was arrested on drug and alcohol charges, while Whitney Houston twice entered drug rehabilitation programs. She filed for divorce in October 2006, citing irreconcilable differences.
Bobby Brown's attorney, Ram Cogan, said he will seek to overturn the custody ruling.
