Aussies Win First Test v India in Melbourne

Australia's cricket team has beaten India by 337 runs with one day to spare in the first test of their series in Melbourne, Australia.

Strike bowler Brett Lee and left arm spinner Brad Hogg took two wickets apiece and Mitchell Johnson took three more as India collapsed to 161 all out in its second innings.

The visitors were chasing a victory target of 499 runs but the Aussie bowlers made sure they got nowhere near the total. Lee finished with 2-43 while Hogg was 2-51. Johnson was 3-21.

The final score: Australia 343 all out and 351-7. India 196 all out and 161 all out. The match was the first of four tests between the two sides. The second test starts Wednesday in Sydney.
