American skier Bode Miller has won a men's World Cup downhill race on the Stelvio course in Bormio, Italy, his first World Cup win since breaking away from the U.S. ski team.
Miller completed the 3.270-kilometer course in 2:00.57 seconds. Austrian Andreas Buder finished second 0.45 seconds back. Jan Hudec of Canada was third, 0.54 seconds behind the American. Didier Cuche of Switzerland was fourth.
For Miller - the world downhill and super-G champion in 2005 at Bormio - Saturday was his 26th World Cup victory and the first since his downhill win at Wengen, Switzerland last January.
Benjamin Raich of Austria is the overall World Cup points leader with 524 points. Cuche is second with 503 points. Miller is third overall with 406 points.
