S. Africa 218-5 v West Indies in 2nd Test

South Africa's cricket team has scored 218-5 in its first innings in response to the West Indies' total of 243 on the second day of their second test match at Newlands in Cape Town.

Ashwell Prince and Mark Boucher had an 87-run partnership for South Africa after the home side fell to 131-5.

Prince and Boucher scored 52 runs in the last 10 overs. West Indian bowler Dwayne Bravo was 3-46 and Jerome Taylor was 2-45.

The West Indies leads the three-match series, 1-0, after taking the first test by 128 runs. The win was the Caribbean squad's first in South Africa and its first significant road win since 2000.

The third test begins January 10th in Durban. The two sides also will play five one-day international matches beginning January 20th in Centurion.
