Oksana Dragan has held many positions in programming and management at the Voice of America, most recently as director of broadcasts to Europe, and as acting director of the office of program review. Before coming to VOA she worked at Newsweek magazine and on several Ukrainian-language publications. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from Douglass College-Rutgers University, and an M.A. in Russian and East European History from Columbia University. Her fascination with the colorful multi-ethnic neighborhoods in New York City and Jersey City, N.J. where she grew up ultimately led to post-graduate studies in American immigration history at the University of Minnesota and Johns Hopkins University.
