NBA: Iverson's Last Minute Shot Leads 76ers to Win Over Wizards

Philadelphia's Allen Iverson beat the buzzer in overtime to lead his 76ers to a 116-114 victory over the Washington Wizards in Friday's National Basketball Association action.

Iverson stole a pass, drove down the court, and made a lay-up as time expired to lift the Sixers at home. He had 28 points and 13 assists in Philly's second straight win.

The Dallas Mavericks snapped a three-game skid with a 92-83 win against the Portland Trail Blazers. Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points and made 14 rebounds to lead the Mavs in Dallas. Marquis Daniels had three assists, a steal and one block in the final two minutes to help seal the victory.

The Indiana Pacers erased a six-point deficit to beat the expansion Charlotte Bobcats 82-77. Fred Jones scored eight of his 23 points in the final 2 1/2 minutes as the Pacers triumphed over a short bench after losing several players to league suspensions resulting from last week's brawl in a game against the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons also enjoyed a victory Friday, edging the Miami Heat 78-77 in Detroit. Richard Hamilton made the winning shot with one second to go. He led the Pistons with 24 points, and was 10-for-10 from the foul line.

Other NBA winners Friday were the Timberwolves, Cavaliers, Magic, Spurs, Jazz, Suns, Clippers, SuperSonics, and Kings.

The Minnesota Timberwolves routed the Memphis Grizzlies 115-90, the Cleveland Cavaliers scored in the final seconds to top the Boston Celtics 98-96, and the Orlando Magic rolled to a 117-99 defeat of the Atlanta Hawks.

The San Antonio Spurs snapped Denver's four-game winning streak, beating the Nuggets 89-75, the Utah Jazz downed the Houston Rockets 90-80, and the Phoenix Suns won their seventh straight game with a 95-86 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets.

The Los Angeles Clippers thumped cross-state rival Golden State Warriors 98-87, the Seattle SuperSonics crushed the New Jersey Nets 92-79, and the Sacramento Kings slipped past the Los Angeles Lakers 109-106 for their seventh consecutive victory.
