NBA: Heat Beats Division Rival Wizards

The Miami Heat overcame a stellar 47-point performance by Washington's Gilbert Arenas to beat the division rival Wizards 128-113 in Friday's National Basketball Association play.

Miami stretched its winning streak against Washington to 14 straight games, getting 24 points from Dwayne Wade and 28 from Shaquille O'Neal.

The New Jersey Nets won their eighth game in a row, topping the visiting Atlanta Hawks 99-91. Vince Carter led the Nets with 37 points, and Jacque Vaughn came off the bench to net six points late in the fourth quarter to help lift New Jersey.

The Golden State Warriors knocked Dallas down a peg, scoring in the final second to edge the Mavericks 111-109. Baron Davis scored the game-winning jump shot to beat the buzzer and defeat Dallas for only the third time in the last 26 meetings. The host Mavericks blew a 10 point fourth-quarter lead.

In other NBA action, the Toronto Raptors rallied to beat the Indiana Pacers 99-97, the Orlando Magic trounced the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-87, and the Phoenix Suns beat the Charlotte Bobcats 110-100. The Milwaukee Bucks overpowered the New York Knicks 113-108, the Sacramento Kings notched a 116-112 win over the Boston Celtics, and the Portland Trail Blazers fell 93-90 to the Memphis Grizzlies.
