Two college students have pleaded not guilty to charges of obstructing justice for allegedly helping the Boston Marathon bombing suspect get rid of evidence.
Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, both from Kazakhstan, appeared in a Boston courtroom Tuesday.
They are accused of taking away a laptop computer belonging to alleged bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and throwing away a backpack full of fireworks.
Kadyrbayev's lawyer told the court his client immediately cooperated with the FBI by handing over the computer and telling them about the backpack. Agents recovered it in a landfill.
Tazhayakov's lawyer said his client had nothing to do with throwing away the fireworks.
Both face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan allegedly set off two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon in April, killing three and wounding 264. Some of the victims lost their legs.
Police killed Tamerlan in a shootout. Dzhokhar was found hiding in a boat in a backyard of a Boston suburb. He is in federal prison awaiting trial.
