Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is scheduled to meet his Israeli counterpart, Gabi Ashkenazi, Sunday for talks, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.
The ministry's statement had no further details.
Egypt is working with the United States and regional partners toward reinforcing a cease-fire it brokered between Israel and Palestinian militants, facilitated in part by its long-standing relations with both sides.
Separately, the Israeli news website Walla reported that the head of Egyptian general intelligence, Abbas Kamel, was set to travel to Israel and the Palestinian territories Sunday to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas officials.
Neither Israeli nor Palestinian officials immediately responded to requests for comment.
