Nigeria Swears In Principal Advisers

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has sworn in 13 advisers, including new appointees for energy and media.

The ceremony took place Thursday in the capital, Abuja.

Abubakar Sambo, the head of Nigeria's Energy Commission, becomes Jonathan's his special adviser on energy.

Reuben Abati, an official of Nigeria's Guardian newspapers, is Jonathan's special adviser on media and publicity.

Kingsley Kuku will remain as special adviser to Niger Delta region. The president also kept Mike Oghiadomhe as his chief of staff.

Jonathan was elected as president in April. He came to power last year following the death of the former leader Umaru Musa Yar'Adua.
