Attorneys for Bill Cosby plan to ask a federal court judge to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed against the comedian in Massachusetts by three women who said he called them liars when they accused him of sexual assault.

Cosby, 77, and attorneys for the women who brought the suit said in a court filing late Tuesday that they met twice this month with an eye toward resolving the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Earlier this week, a Kentucky university postponed a March appearance by Cosby, adding to the list of shows postponed or canceled following accusations of sexual misconduct.

The March 15 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington was postponed "by mutual agreement" with the entertainer and the show's promoter, National Artists Corp, the university said in a brief news release on Tuesday.

Refunds to ticket holders will be made starting March 2, the school said.
