U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, left, talks to Britain's Foreign Secretary David Lammy as he arrives for a meeting at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in London, Sept. 10, 2024.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy hosted U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken for talks Tuesday in London about a range of topics including the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

U.S. and British officials are also focusing on bilateral relations, as well as issues in the Indo-Pacific.

"In a more volatile and insecure world, it is even more important that we are highly aligned nations," Lammy said in a statement ahead of Tuesday’s meeting.

Blinken was also due to meet later Tuesday with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, whose party returned to power in July for the first time in 14 years.

Starmer is scheduled to meet Friday with U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington.
