China's SARS Experience Provides Lessons For The Ebola Battle

China is planning to send about 1,000 medical workers and experts to West Africa , and a team from Beijing's 302 Military Hospital, which took the lead during the 2003 outbreak of SARS, is operating a holding center to keep suspected Ebola patients under quarantine. Nelson Lee, head of infectious diseases at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, tells V-O-A's Victor Beattie the city was caught by surprise by SARS and the successful response to it offers lessons for those battling Ebola.
