On the banks of the Chao Praya river of the previous Thai capital of Thonburi - now a part of Bangkok - successive waves of immigrants from Portugal and China assimilated into Thai society. But one sweet snack, originating with the Portuguese and adopted by the Chinese, has endured relatively unchanged. VOA's Steve Herman reports from Bangkok.
