The conflict between Boko Haram Islamist militants and the military in Nigeria has forced more than two million people to flee their homes there. Boko Haram has escalated its attacks in northern Nigeria and neighboring countries, and the Nigerian government is trying to toughen its response to the insurgency. But many thousands of women have lost their husbands in the violence and have been unable to feed their children. Some have sought help from the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the ICRC is working in Nigeria's Borno state to help widows start small businesses. On this week’s Hashtag VOA, a look at international efforts to help Nigeria’s victims of Boko Haram.
