President Donald Trump Wednesday defended his decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, a move that has set off a political firestorm in Washington. Even as Trump and others in his administration defended the action, opposition Democrats demanded a special counsel be appointed to lead an investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during last year’s U.S. presidential election.
