Peruvian Businessman Opens "Chamo" Community to Help Venezuelan Migrants

Venezuelan migrants are leaving their country in droves in a massive exodus that has been compared to Syria’s ongoing refugee crisis. Slowly, some international help is trickling in. The United States recently announced $16 million in humanitarian aid for countries helping Venezuelans to resettle in a new country. In Peru, one businessman is trying to do his part to help families start new lives. VOA’s Celia Mendoza spoke with some of them.
