Iran, EU to Hold More Nuclear Talks

The European Union will hold another round of talks with Iran next week in a final bid to get Iran to freeze all its uranium enrichment activities and avoid U.N. Security Council sanctions.

Diplomats in Vienna say representatives from Britain, France and Germany will meet next Friday in Paris with Iranian officials for the nuclear talks.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will discuss Iran's nuclear program on November 25, but diplomats say Tehran must decide by mid-November to comply for there to be sufficient time to verify suspension.

At the Vatican Friday, Pope John Paul II welcomed Iran's new ambassador to the Holy See. The pontiff told Mohammad Javad Faridzadeh that for the common good of humanity nations should accept international nuclear control mechanisms.
