Two-time defending champion Andy Roddick of the United States has reached the semifinals of the Stella Artois tennis championships in London. Roddick beat France's Sebastian Grosjean, 6-4, 7-6.
The American has beaten Grosjean in the final at Queen's each of the last two years. Roddick is now looking to join Lleyton Hewitt and John McEnroe as the only three-time winners of the tournament.
Roddick will face the Czech Republic's Radek Stepanek in the semifinals. Stepanek beat France's Richard Gasquet in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Meanwhile, top-seed Lleyton Hewitt of Australia lost to Croatian Ivo Karlovic in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3.
Karlovic faces sixth-seeded Thomas Johnasson of Sweden, who ousted British number one player Tim Henman (6-4, 6-4). The grass-court tournament is a key warm-up for the third major tournament of the year, Wimbledon, which starts June 20th in London.
