More Bad Weather Disrupts Olympic Skiing in Italy

Bad weather has postponed the scheduled women's Olympic super-G ski race at the Turin Games in Italy.

A heavy snow fell and fog shrouded the slopes at San Sicario Sunday. Visibility was limited and workers had difficulty keeping the course clear. The delay was the latest in a series of weather-related disruptions of the Alpine skiing schedule. The downhill portion of the women's combined was postponed for a day before being completed Saturday. The men's super-G was re-run after 17 skiers had raced earlier in the day.

The women's super-G race is now scheduled to take place Monday.

In the first of three remaining medal events on the schedule Sunday, host Italy claimed its third gold medal of the Olympics with a victory in the men's 4-by-10 kilometer cross country relay in Pragelato. Germany took silver ahead of Sweden.

Spectators will watch the men's two-man bobsled finals later in the day along with women's one-thousand meters speed skating.

The United States continues to lead in gold medals with seven, followed by Germany and Russia with six each.
