Death Toll From Kenya Wall Collapse Rises to 14

Police in Kenya say at least 14 people were killed when a wall collapsed in a Nairobi slum late Saturday.

Authorities raised the death toll Sunday after rescue teams spent hours looking through the rubble for survivors. Initial reports said 10 people had been killed.

Police say the concrete wall fell onto several homes Saturday night, crushing the residents inside.

The wall served as barrier fence in the slum, where homes are often made of wood and corrugated iron sheeting.

Police say the wall's foundation may have been loosened by heavy rain.

At least two children were among those killed in the collapse.
