U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is traveling to London Thursday, beginning a diplomatic tour focused on the Israeli-Palestinian situation.
The State Department says that while in the British capital, Rice will meet with the other members of the Middle East Quartet - Russia, the European Union and the United Nations - to discuss developments since December.
It says she will also discuss donor efforts and encourage others to follow through on donor pledges made to the Palestinian Authority last year.
She also is to take part in a meeting of the five permanent members of the Security Council plus Germany on Iran.
The secretary travels on to Israel and the West Bank, to discuss with Israeli and Palestinian officials the peace process and the situation in Gaza.
During her visit to London, Rice is also to hold talks with British Foreign Minister David Miliband and Tony Blair, a Quartet envoy and former British prime minister. The State Department says she is to discuss Kosovo with European officials.
