The White House announced Saturday that U.S. President Barack Obama will travel to Russia, Italy and Ghana in July.
Mr. Obama will visit Moscow from July 6 to 8 for meetings with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev. The two leaders are expected to talk about ways to reduce the stockpile of nuclear weapons, cooperate on nonproliferation and resolve differences over a U.S. planned missile defense system in central Europe.
The president will travel to L'Aquila, Italy to attend a G-8 summit of industrialized nations from July 8 to 10. President Obama and world leaders are expected to discuss the economy, energy, and climate change.
Mr. Obama will then travel to the sub-Saharan African country of Ghana, where he will visit the city of Accra on July 10 and 11. Mr. Obama will meet with Ghanaian President John Atta-Mills to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues.
