Reflections on Michael Jackson

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, died 25 June in his home in Los Angeles, California. On the 4 July edition of the VOA music program, Hip Hop Connection, host Rod Murray and his guests paid tribute to the music superstar.

One of those who knew and admired him is Angelo Ellerbee, CEO of the public relations firm Double Exxposure. He worked with Jackson on the Kid’s Choice Awards in 1993 and '94.
Ellerbee spoke with VOA about Michael's off-stage presence and how people should show others love when they are still living.

And what Michael Jackson tribute would be complete without some of his music?

Here’s a brief clip from this week’s Hip Hop Connection, along with one of Rod Murray’s special in-studio guests, R&B singer Maysa, who’s re-recorded one of Jackson’s songs, I Can’t Help It. Maysa spoke with Rod about what Michael Jackson means to her -- and what he means to the world. She also gives some advice to all entertainers or aspiring entertainers. You will also hear some man on the street reaction.
