Jordan Says It Foiled Al-Qaida Suicide Plot

Jordan says it has foiled a planned al-Qaida suicide attack against a civilian target.

Jordanian state television said Wednesday that a Libyan and two Iraqis have been arrested in connection with the alleged plot. The TV report said the planned target was a critical civilian installation.

It did not elaborate.

In November, suicide attacks at three hotels in Amman killed 60 people. Al-Qaida claimed responsibility for those bombings.
