As President Trump continues to search for funding for his proposed border wall, the Department of Homeland Security has designated “high priority” areas, including the Río Grande Valley, in Texas. But landowners there are already familiar with the government's right to acquire private land for public use in the name of “national security” — called eminent domain — and are preparing to fight back.
