Entrepreneur Creates Natural Hair Extension Brand to End Stereotypes in Black Hair Community

According to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, an investment bank in the U.S., Black women are the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs with nearly 2.7 million businesses nationwide. From 2014-2019 it was reported that the number of women-owned businesses by African American women grew 50%, despite the disproportionate financial headwinds that women face. Aneeta Pearson, founder and CEO of 4 All Coils, a natural hair extension company, started her business in efforts to help black women find hair extensions that match their Type 4 hair. She spoke to VOA’s Auriane Itangishaka about her personal experience and her decision to create her brand which offers toxic-free products to her customers. Aneeta also shares the difficulties she faced during the process of becoming an entrepreneur in the natural hair community.
