Community Organizations Rush to the Rescue as Americans Face Eviction

Lawmakers in Washington have yet to reach a compromise relief package for millions of Americans facing financial hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic. Among the hardest hit are the millions of renters facing eviction after their enhanced federal unemployment benefits came to an end and eviction bans were lifted. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Preventions has since moved to reinstate the ban on evictions through the end of the year. In the meantime, many local groups and non-profits throughout the United States are stepping up to help those still in need. VOA’s Julie Taboh has more in part three of her evictions series.
