An Ethiopian court sentenced 14 people to prison Wednesday for plotting to bomb an African Union summit in January.
Authorities say the 14 are Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) rebels trained in Eritrea.
They are accused of planning to strike a hotel where several heads of state were staying and other targets in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
The bombers' prison terms varied in length from nine years to life sentences.
Ethiopia has previously accused Eritrea of backing rebels in Ethiopia. The Eritrean government denies the charges.
The two countries fought a border war from 1998 to 2000 that killed about 80,000 people.
