Former Basketball, Reality TV Star Found Unconscious in Nevada Brothel

Former Los Angeles Clippers' player and reality TV celebrity Lamar Odom has been hospitalized after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, Oct. 13, 2015.

Lamar Odom, a former U.S. professional basketball star and reality TV celebrity has been hospitalized after being found unconscious Tuesday night in a Nevada brothel.

Odom was found Tuesday afternoon at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, which is about 112 kilometers from Las Vegas.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, but when officials tried to airlift Odom to a Las Vegas hospital the 2.08-meter Odom was too tall to fit in the helicopter. He was driven instead.

Latest reports say Odom was still unconscious and breathing with the assistance of machines Wednesday.

As a National Basketball Association player, Odom won two championships as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010. He left basketball in 2013, but remained in the spotlight because of his marriage to reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.

The two married in 2009 and Kardashian filed for divorce in 2013.

Odom’s career was not without incident.

During the 2000-2001 season, he was suspended for violating the NBA’s substance abuse policy for the second time in less than a year.

After leaving the NBA, he pleaded no-contest to a drunken driving charge.

Odom played for several other NBA teams during his career, including the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. Odom started and ended his career with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Odom entered the NBA in the 1999 draft and was named to the All-Rookie team.

In 2004, Odom received the bronze medal at the Athens Olympics as a member of the U.S. men’s basketball team.
