Mexican authorities have arrested the former governor of the Mexican state of Chiapas.

Prosecutors say Pablo Salazar, who governed Chiapas from 2000 to 2006, was arrested Tuesday at Cancun airport.

He is accused of stealing government funds meant to be used for hurricane cleanup.

Salazar is linked to the longtime ruling party, PRI.

On Saturday, former Tijuana mayor Jorge Hank Rhon was arrested for having an illegal cache of guns in his home. He also supports the PRI party.
