WASHINGTON —
Guinean President Alpha Conde has declared a week of mourning after a stampede at a rap concert left at least 24 people dead.
The stampede happened Tuesday night on a beach in Conakry where thousands of people had gathered for the concert to celebrate the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
A statement from the presidency called the incident a "tragic drama," but did not give a death toll.
The government is investigating the incident.
