House Defies Obama, Passes Bill to Restrict Iraqi, Syrian Refugees

The U.S. House on Thursday passed a bill that would require federal officials to certify that each migrant from Iraq and Syria seeking asylum in the United States is not a security threat. Republicans said the bill was a response to the danger posed by Islamic State. President Barack Obama said the measure betrays core American values. VOA’s Cindy Saine reports.
