Sept. 11, 2001, will forever be a date remembered by Americans. On that day, nearly 3,000 people were killed in an act of terrorism in three U.S. cities. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden honored the lives lost on the day’s 20th anniversary with visits to the sites of the attacks in New York City, Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon. VOA’s Carolyn Presutti brings us the events of the day.
