Wisconsin Zoo Polar Bear Relishes Early Snow

While the human residents of several U.S. Midwestern states struggled with an early-season snowfall in recent days, one Wisconsin zoo resident reveled in it.

A young polar bear at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, Wisconsin, treated himself to a snow bath, rolling around in the fresh powder, to the delight of zoo-goers.

The bear is one of the 3-year-old twins, Sakari and Suka, featured in the zoo's Arctic Passage exhibit.

Winter won't officially begin until December 21, but the early snowstorm that dumped up to 50 centimeters across parts of the region certainly gave the polar bear a taste of its natural habitat in the Arctic.

The snowstorm blanketed central U.S states, slowing air travel and delaying some events for U.S. presidential candidates.
