Alan Eyre Is First US State Department Persian-language Spokesman

In 2011, the American government appointed its first Persian language spokesperson, tasked to speak directly to the Iranian people. VOA's Heather Murdock talks to spokesman Alan Eyre about his unique role in the Iran talks, and how the U.S. government hopes this kind of communication will continue to improve U.S.-Iran relations and about his interest in Persian poetry.
