Farmers in Lebanon are among the hardest hit in the country’s continuing economic crisis, and their situation worsened after Saudi Arabia banned agricultural imports from Lebanese producers. The Saudi ban targets drug trafficking, specifically of the amphetamine known as Captagon, produced in parts of Lebanon controlled by Hezbollah and often smuggled in farm exports.
