Hyungjoon Won, a Juilliard-trained violinist, is closer than ever to realizing a dream, years in the making: a joint performance by North and South Korean musicians. Unable to communicate let alone meet for the last seven decades, they must perform straddling their border, which has been called the most militarized in the world. In the week leading up to the concert, inspired musicians from around the world gather in Seoul to partake in the effort. But military aggression, geopolitical paralysis, and apathy threaten to derail Won’s dream–one that has been pursued with great sacrifice.
