Tunisians Vote on Controversial New Constitution
update
- By Lisa Bryant
Tunisia voted Monday on a new constitution pushed by Tunisian President Kais Saied. Early results indicate it is passing easily, although only about a quarter of the eligible voters went to the polls. Supporters of the constitution hope it will end years of economic and political turmoil. Critics fear it will end the Arab Spring's only democracy. For VOA, Lisa Bryant reports from the Tunis suburb of Ariana.
